Although henna is a natural dye, these days you cannot trust anything blindly. Do not take all the ‘honest’ claims for granted, make sure you read all the ingredients carefully before investing! An important tip for you while buying not just henna but anything would be: ingredients are always written in the order of composition. So, you would know exactly how natural the henna is.

Soak It Overnight

It is mostly available in powder form. It needs to be mixed with water to form a paste. This is to be done well beforehand so it is advisable to soak it overnight. Mix only as much water as is required to make a fine paste. If you mix too much water, the mixture would be too runny and won’t stay on the head easily. This can lead to quite a mess! So, be careful while mixing water.

While Application

Comb your hair to remove all the tangles. Use an old towel or dupatta to cover your neck and shoulders to protect them from staining. Now, mix the paste well before applying it. It is advisable to section out your hair and then start applying the mixture to one section at a time. Pin up each section of hair when it’s done and continue with the process till all your hair is covered. If anything is left, apply it on to the hairline and roots, and you are good to go!

Post Application

Once you are done with the application, well, sit back and relax! It takes around 3-4 hours to give a good tinge to the hair. Wash it off after four hours. You will have to use a little shampoo to remove it properly as henna is a little sticky and won’t go completely just with water. Once you are done washing, wipe your hair with a clean towel and then blow dry. Enjoy beautiful and silky hair!
