Weddings may seem like an easy deal, but the truth is that marriage may only be a few vows, but weddings are a hefty business. Weddings don’t last a few seconds, but weeks before and after the actual marriage. A wedding is functions, a million different clothes, guest lists, food and whatnot, and all these things need to be prepared for beforehand.

One such thing that needs preparation beforehand as well as the bride’s look. The bride is the star of the show, and her appearance is perhaps one of the most important parts of the wedding. Thus, extra care must be taken in ensuring the bride looks the part since everyone would agree, it’s her day.

This is not an easy task. Brides don’t dress up an hour before their weddings and show up in smudged lipsticks. Brides must organise pre-bridal plans with their salons. Their lehengas are picked months before the actual wedding day— then why not the salon that does their makeup as well? There are a few things brides should do in order to prepare themselves and their respective salons for the main day, and today we tell all to-be-brides some of them.

Start by trying the salon you are going to book and ask the specific stylist who is going to be working on the wedding day with you to do your hair or makeup once first, so you know the stylist knows what he/she is doing and are happy with his brand of work. You can even schedule a paid trial!

Your next step should be getting an estimated cost for your entire styling form the salon. You don’t want to spend too much, neither you want the stylist to do a half-hearted job just so your treatment is cheap. Thus, get a quote that includes all the things you would like, and everything the stylist would advise you to get done and work on that estimated price.

You may get an estimate, but don’t believe that does the job. The estimate may be a little eyebrow-raising, but that’s to be expected since you are a bride and bridal treatments take a far larger sum than a regular salon visit. This is not only because you are the bride and the centre of attention, but because brides generally require more treatment on their special day. If the price is still too high, try to negotiate a few things— your salon will be more understanding than you can imagine!

The reason we advise pre-bridal plans and treatments is so that the final day preparations don’t seem as daunting, and your best friend doesn’t have to run across the venue with waxing strips for your upper lips— the salon can handle that!
